Abstract In this article, I will focus on the study of living space in houses Russian-speaking emigrants 1990s–2000s Germany. discuss “home” several aspects: a wide sense as place Earth where people’s life goes on, physically built environment family dwells, and objectified everyday interiors. The choice objects furnishings for “Russian” house Germany cannot be classified, but it is unique associated with biographies owners, history each individual family, well moving to turns out complex phenomenon: can seen safe space, escape from outside world, offering emotional comfort. It representation personal values, owners’ identity, preferences. also scene scenarios relationships between person unfold. that places his/her appear memories events other people, reflecting importance interpersonal expressed gifts, photos, children’s drawings, crafts. new place, people are no longer limited set typical furnishing patterns were dictated by shortage goods ideas country origin.
